The Roanoke-Chowan Partners for Progress Phase 2 (RCPP2) convened its quarterly meeting on Friday, June 9, at Roanoke Electric Co-op’s headquarters. RCPP2 is a local collaborative effort of community partners led by the co-op. Partners gathered to hear updates about one of the co-op’s most valued projects – Roanoke Connect.
It’s being at the right place at the right time - that’s what RCPP2 is about! The Roanoke-Chowan Partners for Progress 2 (RCPP2) can show you there is unity, creativity, and strength in being a part of this collaborative. RCPP2 is comprised of regional community residents, businesses, nonprofits, educational and faith-based institutions, and local governments.
The Roanoke Center coordinates the partnership with RCPP2. A space has been created where networks are broadened, ideas are fertilized, resources are leveraged, toolkits are expanded, and collaborative teams generate vibrant opportunities for positive community changes.
RCPP2 - Taking a Collaborative Approach Toward Progress
Roanoke-Chowan Partners for Progress 2’s (RCPP2) mission is to coordinate the economic development efforts of nonprofits, local governments and community development within the Roanoke-Chowan and Roanoke Valley regions to stimulate a diversified, vibrant and growing local economy. Stakeholders meet quarterly to share ideas, leverage resources, and discover common ground. Partners’ continuous dialogue prevents entities from replicating work or stepping on each other’s toes.
RCPP2 is taking a collaborative approach to address the challenges and opportunities in four priority areas of interest selected by the constituents. These priority areas are listed below. Become a part of this powerful framework and share in the excitement and joy of this economic transition in making local grassroots communities stronger.
Below you will find strategic items within the four areas of focus identified by partners in previous sessions.
A signature project being led by the RCPP2 will be engaging the entire region to log their interest in a fiber project that could lead to expanded high-speed internet access for all citizens in Bertie, Gates, Halifax, Hertford, and Northampton counties.
