Roanoke EC Crews Restore All Outages Following Hurricane Matthew

Since receiving its first outage alert on Friday, October 7, Roanoke is pleased to announce that all known services are now active.

Roanoke EC Crews Narrow Outages Down to Approximately 200 Meters Overnight

As of 5:30 a.m. this morning, Roanoke EC crews have narrowed its total outage report of 5,200 meters over the course of the storm to just over 200 meters with the assistance of Adams Electric Cooperative of Gettysburg, PA. 

Roanoke EC Crews Restore Almost Half of System Outages Following Hurricane Matthew

Crews have been working non-stop since early this morning to restore over 3,500 outages resulting from Hurricane Matthew.  Since then, crews have restored almost half of those meters that were without power.

Roanoke EC Reports Over 3,000 Outages Following Hurricane Matthew

Early reports this morning show that we have over 3,000 member-owners without power with the most significant concentration of outages occurring in Bertie, Halifax and Hertford.  The crews have started assessing system damage brought by Hurricane Matthew’s impact.  Preliminary assessments indicate that the restoration effort may take days to fully restore power to all member-owners being affected due to the extent of road damage throughout our service area.
