Roanoke EC is awarding $8,000 in Bright Ideas education grants to seven teachers to fund engaging classroom learning projects. More than 1,400 students at schools in Gates County will participate in Bright Ideas projects funded by Roanoke this year.

Roanoke Electric honors veterans’ service to country, values service to co-op

Susan Williams considers herself one of the fortunate ones.

After high school, she entered the U.S. Air Force where she spent her military career copying Morse code. When her four-year tour of duty ended, she ventured into the workforce, seeking and eventually finding what she called “a good fit” for a military vet like herself with limited civilian work experience.

Operation RoundUp is the gift that keeps on giving. Thanks to our member-owners, Roanoke Electric Cooperative recently presented four local organizations funding in support of their community initiatives.
