Roanoke Rewards helps member-owners lower electric bills

Over the past year, member-owners were credited $2.05 per transaction towards their electric bill using the co-op’s Roanoke Rewards program.  That’s almost $25 per year for member-owners who shop online once a month.

Co-op's Forestry Project offers assistance to area landowners

The Sustainable Forestry and African American Land Retention Project will be holding a landowner meeting on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 from 9:30 am-12 pm at the Roanoke Center in Rich Square. The Sustainable Forestry Project seeks to provide landowners in Roanoke Electric Co-op’s service area with resources that will restore and conserve their forest land.

Fun summer events often includes water activities.  Roanoke Electric Co-op desires for both its staff and member-owners to enjoy the summer fun as safely as possible.  To that end, here are three water recreation safety tips that could save a life this summer:

Co-op relaunches Upgrade to $ave Program

Roanoke Electric Co-op recently relaunched its Upgrade to $ave program with a new recruitment focus.  Instead of waiting for member-owners to call in complaining of high electric bills, the co-op is becoming more proactive in looking over member-owners’ accounts and reaching out to them.

Co-op gives Roanoke Connect project updates at RCPP2 meeting

The Roanoke-Chowan Partners for Progress Phase 2 (RCPP2) convened its quarterly meeting on Friday, June 9, at Roanoke Electric Co-op’s headquarters. RCPP2 is a local collaborative effort of community partners led by the co-op. Partners gathered to hear updates about one of the co-op’s most valued projects – Roanoke Connect.

Get up to $2,000 through co-op's Bright Ideas program

Educators have until September 18 to be granted up to $2,000 towards their classroom project.

Two local high school seniors recently completed internships at Roanoke Electric Cooperative.

Co-op holds ribbon cutting for new substation

Roanoke Electric Co-op unveiled its new Darlington substation, during a ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 31 in Halifax.

Co-op sends two local students to Washington, D.C.

Roanoke Electric Cooperative is proud to sponsor an all-expense paid trip to the nation’s capital for two local junior high school students.  This coming June, they will join more than 1,500 students from 44 states to participate in Electric Cooperative Youth Tour.
