Roanoke Economic Development, Inc. also known as The Roanoke Center, 501(c)3 affiliate of Roanoke Electric Cooperative offers additional services to individuals and small businesses to the improve quality of life in Roanoke Electric Cooperatives’ primary service area.  We are very appreciative of the support we receive from foundations, grants, and other sources.  In addition to these sources, your contribution is needed to help The Roanoke Center advance its mission. You may also specify which existing TRC program that you'd like to support.

The Roanoke Center Causes:

Community Solar - Sponsor some of the available Community Solar panels to support a low-income member-owner's participation in renewable energy.  The 2016 panel cost is $445 per panel.

Upgrade 2 $ave – Sponsor a member-owner’s co-payment needed to buy down the cost of an energy efficiency investment and save energy costs.  Also, these monies support urgent repairs needed at some residences that will make homes safer and eligible for energy efficiency repairs.

Roanoke Connect Phase II – Support the expansion of Roanoke Electric’s fiber project to bring high-speed Internet access to underserved areas.

General Operation - Support the overall mission of Roanoke Economic Development / The Roanoke Center.

U.S. Endowment for Forestry and Communities, Greenville, SC

GREENVILLE, SC - Enviva Holdings, LP today announced a $45,000 grant to support African American land retention and healthy forests in northeastern North Carolina.  The grant to the Sustainable Forestry Program of the Roanoke Center—a nonprofit affiliate of the Roanoke Electric Cooperative headquartered in Ahoskie, North Carolina—deepens the existing partnership between Enviva, the Roanoke Center, and the U. S. Endowment for Forestry and Communities (Endowment).  That program serves forest owners in seven counties in the Cooperative’s service region and near two of Enviva’s wood pellet facilities.
