Roanoke Electric Cooperative Earns Prestigious Touchstone Energy® Cooperatives’ Service Excellence Four-Star Cooperative Status
Last month Roanoke Electric Cooperative (REC) received national recognition from Touchstone Energy® Cooperatives for earning Service Excellence Four-Star Cooperative status. REC is one of only 17 other electric co-ops across the nation that has earned this prestigious Four-Star Cooperative recognition by completing four employee engagement courses in the Touchstone Energy Service Excellence Program.
“The Touchstone Energy Cooperatives network supports more than 740 electric cooperatives, so we are pleased to have achieved this high honor. This accomplishment demonstrates REC’s commitment to service and ongoing employee education, and our member-owners will reap the rewards of this effort,” remarked Curtis Wynn, president and CEO.
Touchstone Energy has recognized REC’s desire and dedication to effectively serve its membership in Bertie, Hertford, Halifax, Northampton, Gates, Perquimans and Chowan counties and become one of the best in the industry in a variety of ways. The Touchstone Energy Service Excellence Program is an on-site workshop series that empowers employees to become ambassadors of REC and electric cooperatives in general. During these workshops, co-op employees master advanced communication skills, adopt a “can-do” attitude and learn how to better assist members by proactively anticipating their needs.
