Roanoke Electric Cooperative is Building the Bridge to Energy Savings with Roanoke Connect

With the construction of the fiber optic network nearly complete, the second phase of the Roanoke Connect initiative seeks to bring member-owners the opportunity to subscribe to high-speed internet services.  Read more about how this service will allow member-owners to save on their electric bill in the April issue of the Roanoke Flashes below.

Last week, NOAA warned of an “extremely active” Atlantic hurricane season, with 2-5 major hurricanes now in the forecast.

With this in mind, Roanoke Electric Co-op officials are emphasizing the importance of having hurricane preparedness plans in place. North Carolina sits on the Atlantic coast, and when hurricanes hit the region they often bring with them flooding, power loss and wind-damage.

The Roanoke Electric Care Trust board recently awarded grants to five community groups, as part of the co-op’s Operation RoundUp program. Third quarter grants totaled $10,111.25 and were presented to the following organizations:
